3. Practice Time | Make yourself at home
After they had to leave London, the Pevensies go through many different houses before they find a home. In some, they found comfort and shelter, while in others, they had it rough.
Watch the clips below with some houses they visited:
To describe houses, you can use these adjectives – search the meaning of the words you don’t know:
Bright; dingy; private; comfortable; expensive; quiet; convenient; huge; run-down; cramped; inconvenient; safe; dangerous; modern; small; dark; noisy; spacious.
Go to the comments below and describe the houses shown in the clips. Talk about their characteristics, good and bad, and whether if you’d like to live there. After that, choose two of the houses and compare them.
Tip: to compare, you can use “as … as” when it’s the same. For example, “Professor Kirke’s house is as spacious as the witch’s castle.” When they’re not equivalent, use the negative (the lesser one always comes first). For example, “Professor Kirke’s house isn’t as dangerous as the witch’s castle.”
